GETTING STARTED

How do I add my spending? Export a statement from your banking app (CSV or PDF — Monzo, Revolut, Amex, and most banks work), then drop it into EasyBudget. The dashboard builds itself in seconds. You can add several statements from different banks and cards — EasyBudget merges them into one picture.

Where do I find my bank statement? In most banking apps: your account → Statements (or Documents) → Export/Download → choose CSV or PDF. Monzo: Home → tap your balance → Statements. Revolut: Accounts → ⋯ → Statement. If you're stuck, email us the bank name and we'll send steps.

Do I need to connect my bank? No — and you can't. EasyBudget has no bank login on purpose. Your statements are read on your phone and never uploaded.

Which months should I upload? As many as you like. Upload the year so far and you'll get the full 2026 view, month by month, plus averages the Planner uses.

PRIVACY

Can you see my transactions? No. Statements are read and analysed on your device. They are never sent to us or anyone else. That's also why there's no bank connection to breach!

What data leaves my phone? Nothing, unless you choose it: optional anonymous usage events (if you opt in) and an email address (if you add one for your monthly recap). Never your transactions.

How do I delete everything? Open the home screen and tap "Forget everything saved." That permanently wipes your accounts, tags, income, assets, and plans from the device. Deleting the app does the same.

USING EASYBUDGET

What does tagging do? When you ‘tag’ a merchant (Spending, Subscription, House bills, Family, Savings — or your own tag like "Holiday"), EasyBudget remembers it forever. Every month, every account, and every future upload follows your tags automatically. It makes spend tracking much easier, our fancy algorithms do all of this on your device, so it’s completely private.

What is Investigate Mode? Anything EasyBudget can't confidently place is marked "Unknown" and gathered for you, because if we don’t know - it’s likely you won’t be able to either, which is why a bit of investigation is needed to understand and place it — especially for larger transactions.. Investigate walks you through them in two quick steps, showing the original statement lines and information so you can see exactly what each charge was, and when, before you tag it.

Why doesn't money I sent to family count as spending? Payments to people and transfers to savings/investments appear under "Money moved" instead of Spending, so your spending totals reflect what you actually consumed. One tap re-files anyone if you'd like them counted differently. You can also account for this type of one off payments in your budget planner, which keeps everything clean!

A transaction is in the wrong category. Tap it (in Where it went or Top merchants), pick the right tag, done — it's remembered from then on.

How do subscriptions work? EasyBudget detects steady recurring charges automatically and totals them. The monthly check-in also links straight to your iPhone's subscription list so you can cross-check what Apple bills you, and add anything missing.

How does the Planner work? The Planner shows your real monthly averages per tag, then lets you build each upcoming month: tap to apply your averages, add one-off costs (flights, gifts), and see what's left from your income.

SUBSCRIPTION & BILLING

How much does EasyBudget cost? There's a [7]-day free trial with full access. After that, EasyBudget Premium is £49.99/year, billed through your Apple Account.

How do I cancel? Settings → your name → Subscriptions → EasyBudget → Cancel. If you cancel during the free trial, you won't be charged. Deleting the app doesn't cancel a subscription.

How do refunds work? Purchases are made through Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com. If something's gone wrong on our side, email us and we'll help.
